What is sciatica?
Sciatica describes pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve — from the lower back into the buttock and down the leg. It is usually a symptom of an underlying issue irritating the nerve.
Common symptoms
- Pain radiating into the buttock and leg
- Pins and needles or numbness
- Pain with sitting, standing or walking
- Weakness in the leg or foot
Common causes
- Disc-related nerve irritation
- Tightness or compression along the nerve path
- Lower back joint dysfunction
- Postural and load factors
How we treat it
We work to settle the irritation and address the underlying cause with a combination of hands-on treatment, dry needling where appropriate, and a structured exercise programme to help you return to walking, sitting and sleeping comfortably.
“We don't just label the symptom. We find what's actually driving your pain — then build a plan around it.”
